Job summary

Truist is seeking an Underwriter to provide multifamily commercial real estate mortgage loan and borrower credit analysis in support of the Credit Risk Management team. You will perform underwriting, due diligence and coordination with Closing to facilitate funding.

The role requires familiarity with Agency requirements, strong collaboration in a high production environment, and experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs, including affordable lending when applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and related applications.
• High attention to detail, highly organized and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and analyze data from property owners, borrowers, lenders and third party sources to prepare mortgage loan submissions.
• Execute the due diligence process including maintaining deal files and coordinating with Closing.
• Inspect properties and document findings with presentations including maps and aerials.
• Order, review and interpret third party reports ensuring adherence to agency requirements.
• Analyze borrower’s legal structure and financial statements in light of Agency and Truist requirements.
• Ensure credit risk issues are mitigated and discussed with senior underwriters.
• Prepare loan submission packages in compliance with Agency Guide and internal requirements.
• Assist in completing underwriting aspects of the final loan delivery package.
