Job summary

Providence is seeking a Senior MRI Technologist for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit at St Jude Medical Center. This per diem role involves 10-hour variable shifts and close collaboration with radiologists and scheduling teams to deliver diagnostic MRI services.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, MRI credentials, BLS, and at least 3 years of MRI experience, with a strong focus on patient safety and quality imaging.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Radiologic Technology or MRI.
• Maintains continuing education hours to renew license/certification.
• Requires National Registered Technologist - MRI or National Certified MRI Technologist at hire.
• Requires National Provider BLS from American Heart Association at hire.
• Minimum 3 years’ MRI Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI examinations with proper safety practices.
• Follow department protocols and hospital policies for MRI procedures.

Description

Senior MRI Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit at St Jude Medical Center. This position is Per diem and will work 10-hour Variable Shifts.

Under the general supervision of the MRI Supervisor and the Manager Diagnostic Imaging, the Senior MRI Technologist will perform a variety of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations using the proper MRI safety practices. Performs various MRI procedures according to accepted department protocols and hospital policies as an expert user. Performs a variety of MRI procedures for patients of any age group for diagnostic purposes according to department, hospital, and regulatory agency standards. Assist Radiologist and referring physicians as needed to perform MRI procedures. In addition, the Senior MRI Technologist will work closely with the radiologists, other modalities, inpatient and outpatient MRI departments, and will serve as a liaison to scheduling and referring physician offices.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree and/ or equivalent education / experience Radiologic Technology and / or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Must maintain required continuing education hours necessary to renew license/certification.
• Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging or
• Upon hire: National Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 3 years' experience as MRI Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years Hospital Clinical experience at the level of an expert user.
• 1 year CT experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
