Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience in magnetic resonance imaging or MRI quality control.
• Educational requirement as stated: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or two years of graduate study.
• Combination of education and experience may qualify as described in the posting.
• Radiology certification to meet federal credentialing standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Technologist performs routine, emergent, and specialized MRI procedures with protocol responsibility and magnet safety.
• Receives and reviews physician requests for MRI examinations.
• Determines necessary procedures and equipment for each case.
• Positions patient for examination and explains procedures to ensure cooperation.
• Retrieves lab results and assesses renal function for gadolinium eligibility.
• Notifies Radiologist for additional consent when needed for renal impairment.
• Performs MRI safety assessments on implants and devices.
• Operates and customizes MRI equipment within the facility.
• Conducts examinations and adjusts technique to highlight clinically significant findings.
• Extends and modifies procedures to ensure complete and accurate information.
