Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced UAS Pilot II to operate MQ-9A aircraft as PIC, conducting flight operations in CONUS/OCONUS locations with adherence to FAA and NATOPS standards. You will participate in planning, briefing, execution, debrief and crew resource management, develop training materials, and support safe integration into the NAS through collaboration with U.S.

Government and OEM partners. The role requires active Secret clearance, 50+ PIC hours, MQ-9A qualifications, and willingness

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret.
• BA/BS from an accredited college or university in engineering, business, logistics, management, mathematics, sciences, or professional aeronautics with 5+ years of performance.
• Within the last 10 years, at least one year of MQ‑9A pilot duties to U.S. Naval/U.S. Air Force UAS flight operations.
• Qualified MQ‑9A Pilot (Form8/NATOPS evaluation within last 3 years) or previously qualified MQ‑9A Pilot.
• Qualified MQ‑9A LOSL/R Pilot (Form8/NATOPS evaluation within last 3 years) or previously qualified LOSL/R Pilot.
• At least 50 hours as MQ‑9A Pilot‑In‑Command (PIC).
• Current FAA ClassI or ClassII Medical Certificate or DOD equivalent.
• Ability to travel on CONUS/OCONUS deployments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface professionally with multiple levels of management, customers and peers.
• Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.
• Ability to work as a team to accomplish mission requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of flight including planning/briefing, execution, debrief and crew resource management.
• Adhere to specific military, civilian and ICAO flight rules, including compliance with FAA regulations.
• Provide expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft.
• Develop briefing and training materials to support flight operations.
• Plan and perform a wide range of in‑process analog, digital, microwave, optical and mechanical systems and equipment under ambient and environmental conditions.
• Provide technical knowledge and experience with UAS operations to facilitate safe and efficient integration into the NAS.
• Collaborate with U.S. Government organizations and the Original Equipment Manufacturer for UAS integration.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
