Job summary

LMK Recruiting Solutions in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Motor Control Engineer to own the control architecture and lead the development of high-performance motor control algorithms for linear and rotary actuators, including a 20 kHz current control loop.

You will collaborate with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust integration and certification readiness, spanning modeling, calibration, hardware bring-up, and real-time embedded implementation on TI C2000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of motor control software development with hands-on FOC experience.
• Real-time MCU experience (TI C2000, NXP, STM32); F28003x/F280039 preferred.
• Strong foundation in control theory, power electronics, and electric machines.
• Proficiency with model-based design tools (MATLAB/Simulink) and embedded C/C++ for real-time applications.
• Experience with SIL/HIL/MIL testing environments and hardware-in-lab settings.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement motor control algorithms and architecture for PMSM/BLDC motors.
• Own FOC-based current control (20 kHz loop) and velocity/position control.
• Develop and maintain control architecture across current, velocity, and position loops.
• Integrate sensor-based control with encoder and current-sensor conditioning.
• Lead hardware bring-up, testing, and certification readiness in collaboration with Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing teams.
