Job summary

You will review loan documents for accuracy, work with originators to secure required items, and support a range of loan programs from conventional to government-backed. Qualifications

• Must hold active LAPP & SAR with recent VA loan underwriting (past 6 months).
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a mortgage underwriter.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of credit, appraisal, title and regulatory guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audits and team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review loan files for adherence to program guidelines and investor standards.
• Underwrite residential mortgage loans, including government-backed programs when applicable.
• Collaborate with originators to collect required documents and resolve conditions.
• Respond to internal and investor audits and maintain high service levels.
• Assess risk by reviewing appraisals, titles and other collateral documentation.
• Support production goals while preserving lending quality.
