Job summary

TransMarket Group in Chicago seeks an experienced Mortgage Trader to join our trading team. You will manage risk and trade across mortgage products on the derivatives desk, leveraging a proven track record to drive profitability.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of mortgage pricing, risk metrics, and Spec Pool Trading, and will mentor junior traders while collaborating with sales and clients. This role is on-site at our Chicago office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience trading mortgages for a proprietary book.
• Proven track record of profitable mortgage trading.
• Deep understanding of mortgage pricing and risk metrics.
• Spec Pool Trading experience required.
• Proficiency with trading and risk systems.
• Strong quantitative aptitude with quick, sound risk judgment.
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach with sales and clients.
• Strong work ethic and collaborative mindset.
• On-site presence at our office in Chicago, IL (5 days).

Responsibilities

• Utilize mortgage expertise to manage risk and trade profitably.
• Develop and maintain quantitative tools and analytics for strategy optimization.
• Contribute to desk's automation and e-trading initiatives, including algo pricing logic and auto-hedging workflows.
• Collaborate with fellow traders to share insights and refine trading strategies.
• Mentor junior traders on the desk
