Job summary

Merchants Bank of Indiana in Carmel, IN is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor to manage loan files from disclosure through closing, ensuring documents are complete, accurate, and aligned with underwriting guidelines. Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of mortgage banking experience in origination, closing or processing.
• Familiar with common mortgage documents.
• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the loan file from disclosures through loan closing and work directly with the borrower.
• Conduct a Welcome Call with the borrower to explain the process, needed items, and timelines.
• Monitor files for changes requiring re-disclosure and update the Change Circumstance; support the Disclosure team as needed.
• Order services (flood, appraisal, credit updates, fraud, title, verifications) as required and verify data before UW review.
• Review documents submitted by borrower for adequacy per product guidelines.
• Submit agency/government files to AUS and compare results; request items needed for underwriting.
• Perform a pre-underwrite review to ensure file meets product guidelines for UW readiness.
• Submit complete loan package to underwriting with notes for items ordered or needed for UW.
