Job description

Provides professional, knowledgeable and courteous service to our clients through all applicable delivery channels by meeting mortgage needs of members, Financial advisors and employees throughout the United States. Responsible for enhancing client relationships by identifying needs and cross-selling appropriate Thrivent Financial Credit Union products and services. Independently respond to client questions, concerns and requests in a timely manner to ensure loans are closed within expected timeframe. Maintain safety and security of client, employee & credit union assets by adhering to regulations, policies and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary responsibility is to manage incoming calls to the mortgage line 75% of the time, manage incoming requests to aid in rotation throughout the mortgage loans officers and incoming web applications.
  • Ability to do outbound calls 25% of the time with past clients, financial advisors.
  • Gather accurate and complete information from clients to complete mortgage loan applications
  • Analyze loan applications to identify any potential red flags or areas of clarification.
  • Answer inquiries and make suggestions for products & loan structure
  • Counsel clients on loan process to ensure that all documents are submitted in order to close in appropriate time frame. Follow-up with clients required to minimize additional costs of rate extensions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and loan processing partners to ensure timely completion of loan
  • Stay up to date on regulation changes and underwriting requirements to ensure sound judgement and decision making.
  • Thorough understanding of mortgage products, secondary market underwriting and pricing guidelines.
  • Assist in training new MLO’s
  • Proficient in both first mortgage loans and second mortgage/home equity loans including structuring transactions, working with members and identifying the key differences for selling the right products.
  • Ability to handle with ease high profile members and complicated tax return or other types of mortgage requests
  • Volume production goals are set at higher levels.
  • Ability to meet cross sell goals
  • Full understanding of the mortgage loan origination system for performing daily functions and assisting members
  • Maintain and grow internal and external relationships
  • Perform closing disclosure calls with members meeting set expectations
  • Follow all set guidelines for answering phones utilizing recorded lines, member validation and timing
  • Manage a pipeline of 45-55 mortgage clients at various steps in the process and ensure that loans meet rate locks, rate lock expiration dates, compliance and underwriting criteria. Goal is to have loans closed within a 45 day timeframe.

  • Ability to lead others within the team if needed when manager is out

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $27.31 - $36.95 per hour, which factors in various geographic regions.
