Job summary

The Laboratory Technologist III at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) leads advanced molecular research in ctDNA assays under the PI and lab supervisor. You will ensure safety policies are followed and support ongoing research with high-complexity workflows.

Requirements include a BSc in a health-related field, 3+ years in a lab, and experience with ddPCR/NGS; strong documentation and project coordination skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in medical technology, microbiology, biochemistry or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in academic, translational, or biotech settings.
• Experience with NGS, ddPCR, and molecular assay platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• 30% Research Activities: conduct molecular experiments and analyze ddPCR data for ctDNA assays.
• 20% Performs specialized molecular examinations for assay development, optimization and validation.
• 10% Documents research activities in approved notebooks and updates data analyses as needed.
• 10% Generate reports to evaluate project progress and performance.
• 10% Develops policies, procedures, and protocols to support lab scalability and quality.
• 10% Purchasing and inventory management: assist in stocking supplies and reagents.
• 10% Special projects and consultation: advise investigators on project ideas and feasibility.
