Job summary

Compu Dynamics is seeking a Senior Modular Designer to lead the design and documentation of modular data center systems and enclosure solutions. You will develop 3D models and drawings, ensuring manufacturability and quality in line with DfMA principles.

The role emphasizes standardization, documentation, and collaboration with engineers, project managers, and production teams, with Houston-based modular projects and growth into leadership roles over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, with sheet metal and welding experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks required; AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of modular data center systems, including mechanical enclosures, skid frames, and integrated components.
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks; support coordination with AutoCAD and Revit where needed.
• Establish and uphold MCAD design standards, modular drawing templates, and design documentation workflows.
• Ensure all designs meet manufacturability and quality requirements aligned with DfMA principles.
• Guide junior designers or collaborate with subcontracted engineering resources on modular design packages.
