Job summary

Armada is seeking a Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning across the Galleon, Leviathan, and Orion product lines. This hands-on role covers FAT through IST and handover to operations, ensuring all systems perform as designed before customer takeover.

You will build Armada's commissioning program from the ground up, write procedures, and coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors, traveling about 40–50% to sites and facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands‑on commissioning experience.
• 8+ years of commissioning experience on mission‑critical facilities, including at least 5 years on data center projects and hands‑on leadership of Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning (functional performance testing and IST).
• Deep, hands‑on commissioning expertise in either electrical systems (MV/LV switchgear, UPS, BESS, transfer schemes, generators, protective relaying) or mechanical and controls systems (chillers, air handling, liquid cooling and CDUs, BMS/EPMS sequences).
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE Guideline 0 and Standard 202, NETA ATS, NFPA 70/70E, NFPA 72 and Uptime Institute methodologies.
• Experience writing commissioning plans, test scripts, and turnover documentation, not only executing them.
• Willingness to travel 40–50% to project sites, factory/integrator facilities, and vendor locations.

Responsibilities

• Build and own Armada's commissioning program to industry standard (ASHRAE Guideline 0/Standard 202; Level 1–5 testing framework) including plan, alignment, checklists, IST procedures, and turnover requirements.
• Define and lead factory acceptance testing (FAT) and integrated FAT at facilities for modules, e‑houses, and major equipment, moving testing into the factory.
• Lead site commissioning through IST: reception, pre‑functional checks, start‑up, functional testing, and IST with load tests and transfer scenarios; own issues log.
• Write test procedures, witness and run tests, analyze data, and troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems, especially on first‑of‑a‑kind products.
• Coordinate with customers, third‑party CXAs, contractors, and OEM vendors; align commissioning scope with the Armada/customer responsibility matrix.
• Own turnover packages (test records, as‑builts, O&M manuals, warranties, training) and final commissioning sign‑offs; feed lessons learned back to product engineering.
