Key Responsibilities

• Apply deep understanding of model capabilities to guide prompt engineering and prototyping strategies.
• Initiate and run qualitative assessments of model performance and develop continuous evaluation strategies for quality hillclimbing.
• Partner with AI product designers to craft multimodal solutions where model outputs and UI components work together.
• Develop system instructions and UX patterns for user controls around context, preferences, and memory.
• Stay current on design trends in consumer tech, generative AI, and NLP to inform innovation.

Requirements

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science, HCI, Linguistics, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in conversation design or content design, or equivalent experience designing for conversational AI/LLMs or adaptive, personalized systems.

Preferred

• Experience in vibe-coding and developing AI-powered prototypes.
• Demonstrated ability to grow and iterate in startup-like, ambiguous environments.
• Proficiency in Figma.
• Familiarity with behavioral data and ability to create data-driven yet personalized designs, and to progress in the absence of data.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for articulating design decisions and partnering on experiments.

Compensation & Location

• US base salary range: $160,000 - $231,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.
• Candidates may indicate preferred working location from: Mountain View, CA; New York, NY; Seattle, WA.
