Job summary

Western Alliance Bank seeks a Senior Model Risk Manager to provide governance, oversight, and controls in line with model risk governance and reporting responsibilities. You will develop and maintain a robust framework, oversee validation activities, and communicate risk information to senior management and regulators.

You will lead a team, hire and coach staff, and ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in finance or similar field.
• Masters or MBA in related field required; PhD preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations and regulatory obligations.
• Expert knowledge of credit risk modeling and stress testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance, oversight, and controls for model risk governance and reporting responsibilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust model risk management framework.
• Oversee model validation activities and assess model accuracy and suitability for use.
• Establish and communicate model risk information to stakeholders and regulators.
• Lead a team, including hiring, coaching, and development.
