The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is seeking a Senior Mobile React Native Engineer to join our Mobile Engineering team in Atlanta, GA. You will build and optimize the AJC mobile app for iOS and Android, focusing on performance and user experience in a high-volume newsroom setting.

You will work on CMS migrations (Payload CMS), integrate analytics, and collaborate with designers, editors, and backend engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years in mobile development, including 2+ years in React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern mobile development practices.
• Experience implementing analytics and tracking in mobile apps.
• Experience with Next.js and React Native for mobile web experiences.
• Knowledge of asset management and publishing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the AJC mobile app across iOS and Android using React Native.
• Participate in Payload CMS integration and migrations.
• Implement analytics and user behavior tracking.
• Integrate asset management for multimedia content.
• Collaborate with newsroom, product, design, and backend teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
