Job summary

Kayak, part of Booking Holdings, seeks a Staff Product Designer, Mobile to own the design direction across apps and lead the craft of every designer who works on them. This senior IC role spans three teams (Apps Meta, Apps Retention, and Mobile Design Systems) with a Berlin-office presence three days per week.

You will set quality standards for mobile design, run planning and discovery, and collaborate with senior product leadership to shape roadmap and AI-driven features.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product design with shipped mobile work.
• Deep native expertise across iOS and Android; Apple HIG and Material Design.
• Experience building or evolving mobile design systems.
• Experience driving design direction across multiple teams.
• Fluent with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
• Experience using data and research to guide direction.
• Formal design education or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design direction and UX/UI pattern system across the apps; ensure coherence across three teams.
• Set the quality standard for apps design across teams as a discipline.
• Run planning and discovery for all three teams.
• Partner with the Director of Product for Apps on core initiatives and roadmap.
• Lead native craft across iOS and Android with responsive design considerations.
• Lead the design approach for mobile AI features.
• Drive brand differentiation for Kayak and portfolio apps to ensure market strength.
• Mentor and raise the design bar through shared standards and patterns.
