Job summary

Drivemode is seeking a senior mobile software engineer to shape the next generation of vehicle companion apps for Honda and Acura. You will own architecture and drive features across Android and iOS, collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver a seamless driver experience.

You will champion testing, code quality, and scalable systems while guiding the technical vision and roadmap in a highly regulated automotive context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing customer-facing apps at scale.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to handle complex features.
• Readable, maintainable code with good collaboration.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multi-threading, DI, and reflection.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and provide guidance.

Responsibilities

• Develop a multiplatform vehicle companion app for iOS and Android using Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, and SwiftUI.
• Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and peers across Honda.
• Engage in discussions and contribute ideas to product definitions and designs.
• Lead technical discussions, feature development, and architecture reviews.
• Pair with managers to define a technical vision and roadmap for the app.
• Drive system design and architecture.
• Own the breakdown of complex problems into simple development tasks.
• Build prototypes to validate feasibility of requirements and test ideas.
• Advocate for unit and integration testing best practices.
• Design APIs and SDKs together with external teams.
• Lead observability of non-functional requirements to ensure a delightful experience for Honda and Acura drivers around the world.
• Support engineering development lifecycle processes in a highly regulated and safety-oriented industry.
