Job summary

Beacon Biosignals, a leader in at-home EEG for neurological research, seeks a Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS/Android) focused on BLE and device connectivity. You will own native SDKs, optimize pairing, throughput, and battery life for a wide range of phones and OS versions.

Collaborating with Devices and React Native teams, you'll expose device capabilities to apps, drive reliability, and shape the mobile platform roadmap. Remote-friendly with US East time-zone.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in mobile development (iOS and/or Android).
• Hands-on experience integrating BLE devices into production apps.
• Experience with sensor data or wearables is a plus.
• Strong focus on reliability, edge cases, and performance.
• Excellent communication in async, collaborative environments.
• Experience with React Native or native modules for RN/Expo.
• Knowledge of TypeScript and broader stack (React Native, Expo, GitHub).
• Experience with medical devices, EEG, or wearables is a plus.
• Experience with apps for clinical trials or regulated environments.
• Contributions to open source mobile or BLE projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of native iOS and Android BLE SDKs.
• Own connection reliability, throughput, and battery performance.
• Collaborate with Devices team on firmware interfaces and GATT profiles.
• Expose device capabilities to React Native apps via native modules.
• Own observability of device connectivity using telemetry and feedback.
• Help shape roadmap and technical direction of the mobile platform.
