Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist III to help design and implement a scalable pricing system that balances volume and profitability across multiple lines of business. You’ll work with ML scientists, data scientists, engineers, PMs, and ops analysts to advance causal inference, optimization, and ML-based demand estimation.

The role focuses on end-to-end model development, data pipelines, and production-ready ML components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Scientist or similar role.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries with data processing and model evaluation.
• Experience owning ML components in production, including monitoring and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve ML models and systems powering Expedia Group products, with measurable business impact.
• End-to-end model development: problem formulation, data exploration, feature engineering, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Develop robust data pipelines, data transformations, and quality checks for high-quality inputs.
• Partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate problems into ML solutions and run experiments.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions and apply AI/ML concepts to real-world products.
• Contribute to system design, APIs, and documentation to enable reuse and scalability.
