Expedia Group is seeking a senior ML scientist to shape the machine learning roadmap for CRM personalization and to build production ML systems at scale. You will collaborate with Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to translate business objectives into measurable ML initiatives and deliver high-impact results.

The role requires advanced training in quantitative fields, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience in end-to-end ML deployments, experimentation, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field; 6+ years (Master) or 4+ years (PhD) applying ML to real problems with measurable impact.
• Proficiency across core ML methods with depth in at least one area relevant to this role.
• Strong experimentation and statistics fundamentals for rigorous analyses informing business decisions.
• Fluency in Python, SQL, and distributed data processing (Spark/Databricks) with solid software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Define the ML science roadmap: identify high-impact opportunities and translate vision into deliverable projects.
• Build and own production ML systems end-to-end in partnership with engineering.
• Collaborate across marketing, analytics, and engineering to align objectives and delivery.
• Advance experimentation and measurement to validate ideas and reduce uncertainty.
• Tell data stories with clear visuals and narratives that influence priorities.
• Mentor scientists, promote best practices, and uphold reproducibility and documentation standards.
