Job summary

PlusAI, a Silicon Valley-based Physical AI company, seeks a senior C++ software engineer to design and optimize the production runtime pipeline for ML-driven autonomous vehicle planning. You will integrate ML models into a scalable, safety-critical stack and optimize performance on embedded platforms.

You will implement high-performance C++ components for feature extraction, inference, and trajectory generation, while building robust validation and observability tools.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ experience in high-performance production software.
• Experience deploying ML inference in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize the production runtime pipeline for ML-based autonomous vehicle planning.
• Integrate machine learning models into a scalable, safety-critical planning software stack.
• Optimize end-to-end inference performance via algorithm tuning and C++ optimization.
• Develop high-performance C++ components for feature extraction, inference, trajectory generation, and orchestration.
• Design runtime validation, safety guardrails, and fallback mechanisms for feasible, robust trajectories.
• Investigate runtime issues by tracing failures across planning pipeline stages.
• Debug edge-case scenarios using logs, profiling tools, and quantitative analysis.
• Build tooling to improve debugging, observability, performance, testing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to deploy models while maintaining reliability and performance.
• Drive improvements in runtime architecture, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ensure work complies with QMS, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
