Job summary

Gusto is seeking a Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build and scale our ML/AI infrastructure. You will collaborate with AI/ML engineers to deploy reliable pipelines and scalable platforms, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong ML lifecycle infrastructure skills, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred). This role supports hybrid work from multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing infrastructure and platform services for ML lifecycle.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• Curiosity with emerging AI frameworks and best practices for safe AI scale.

Responsibilities

• Build core components of ML/AI platform roadmap and design MLOps pipelines.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance frameworks for ML model development and deployment.
• Collaborate with ML/AI teams to determine requirements and SLAs for API services.
• Develop infrastructure supporting ML services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply AI tools in engineering workflows and promote AI-enabled decisions.
• Adopt best practices for AI technologies across development.
