Faire is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Platform Engineer to own the technical vision of our ML platform. You will shape architecture, governance, and tooling to accelerate data science velocity at scale across a global retailer ecosystem.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of modern AI productivity tools while engaging with latest ML developments to keep Faire at the forefront of enterprise ML.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building large-scale ML or data platforms.
• Graduate degree in CS, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• Deep expertise in Databricks lakehouse architecture and Unity Catalog governance.
• Proven ability to design systems supporting multiple data science teams.
• Strong background in distributed systems, ML infrastructure, and cloud architecture.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and influence across teams.
• Experience integrating LLM workflows into enterprise platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term architecture of Faire’s ML platform: training, inference, feature management, governance.
• Set company-wide standards for code quality, testing, MLOps, experimentation, and observability.
• Lead adoption of Unity Catalog, multi-workspace strategies, and data/ML mesh patterns.
• Architect scalable ML workflows using Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost of the ML platform.
• Evaluate and integrate new Databricks features as they emerge.
• Mentor ML engineers and raise the practice bar across Faire.
• Represent Faire at ML conferences and meetups.
