Job summary

Pickle Robot Company is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own ML problems end-to-end for robot grasping and perception systems. The role focuses on problem formulation, data engines, training, experimentation, and rigorous evaluation, with platform engineers handling runtime integration and edge deployment.

You will drive data-centric ML, build scalable datasets, and mentor teammates while delivering production-ready models with latency budgets and reproducible artifacts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ML/Computer Vision and shipping models end-to-end.
• Ability to translate product requirements into engineering tasks and trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience building datasets at scale and quality assurance.
• Rigorous evaluation practices: baselines, ablations, metrics.

Responsibilities

• Own ML problem formulation and define labels, rewards, and success criteria.
• Build data engines from synthetic data and large-scale datasets; improve data bottlenecks.
• Train and iterate on large vision models with multi-task heads and experiments.
• Define offline and online metrics for on-robot performance and edge cases.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to roadmap; prepare deployable models with production readiness.
