Pickle Robot Company seeks a senior applied ML engineer to own robotic grasping and the fusion of classical robotics with neural networks. You will lead end-to-end ML for physical interactions on a small team, shaping approaches and delivering robust production systems from lab to fleet.

The role requires hands-on work with robotics platforms, a strong track record in ML and robotics, and a willingness to collaborate across perception and motion planning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years shipping end-to-end ML systems with production ownership.
• Applied robotics expertise deploying ML models in active robotic systems.
• Architectural depth in bespoke model design and neural network innovation.
• Cloud ML proficiency with medium-to-large training pipelines.
• Engineering excellence in Python and software engineering best practices.
• Foundational robotics knowledge: motion planning, kinematics, geometry, perception.
• BS or higher in Robotics, CS, or related field.
• Cross-disciplinary communication to distill ML concepts for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead robotic grasping with end-to-end ownership of gripper configurations for diverse objects.
• Bridge research and production: translate ML research into robust production systems, train pipelines, and deploy to fleet.
• Architect ground-truth evaluation infrastructure for live environments.
• Pioneer simulation-first development using high-fidelity simulators before hardware deployment.
• Drive cross-functional technical vision with perception and motion planning teams; code reviews and design discussions.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and modern workflows to accelerate engineering velocity.
