Job summary

Nuro is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Sensor Data and Calibration team in Mountain View, CA. You will develop synthetic sensor simulation models and ML-based data generation for photorealistic images, lidar, and radar data.

The role requires hands-on ML experience, Python, and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax. This Senior/Staff IC role offers growth toward Tech Lead and a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• PhD or Masters with 3+ years (PhD path) or 4+ years (Masters path) of industry experience in ML
• Strong ML fundamentals and hands-on training/evaluation of modern ML models
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Jax)
• Experience in synthetic sensor data generation and 3D geometry is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop state-of-the-art synthetic sensor simulation methods
• Analyze realism and usefulness of synthetic sensor data
• Answer questions about sensor data and autonomy performance
• Collaborate with autonomy, infrastructure, and systems teams on map needs
