Job summary

Svitla Systems seeks a Senior ML Engineer (Speech, Audio & NLP) for a full-time role with a Europe focus. The candidate will combine software engineering with hands-on speech recognition, audio processing, and NLP to develop end-to-end pipelines from raw audio to structured text.

Responsibilities include training and deploying ML models, evaluating ASR systems, and collaborating with remote teams. The position offers flexibility in workspace, competitive compensation, and ongoing learning

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with automatic speech recognition or speech-to-text systems.
• Experience building or improving audio preprocessing and transcription pipelines.
• Experience with audio data handling: formats, sampling rates, noise, segmentation, and audio quality issues.
• Experience preparing and managing audio/text datasets for training, evaluation, and analysis.
• Experience fine-tuning LLM and/or ASR models for domain-specific use cases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, evaluate, and deploy ML models for speech and audio tasks.
• Build end-to-end speech-to-text pipelines including audio preprocessing, ASR, and post-processing.
• Prepare and manage audio and text datasets for model development and evaluation.
• Analyse ASR outputs and improve transcription quality.
• Collaborate with team members on shared codebases and remote projects.
