Job summary

AZX, a Seattle-based startup with remote options, seeks a Senior ML Engineer to build reusable ML libraries and the tools powering our utility work, including forecasting, disaggregation, and real-time grid data readers.

You’ll own the Rust-based simulation engine with Python bindings, develop grid-data toolkits, and support planning and dispatch for demand-response programs. You’ll contribute to open-source efforts while collaborating with a fast-growing team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping applied ML on real-world signals such as forecasting, disaggregation, detection.

Responsibilities

• Own reusable ML libraries for forecasting, disaggregation, detection, and asset health.
• Build validated libraries with evaluation harnesses deployed across engagements.
• Own the Rust-based simulation engine with Python bindings and its validation.
• Maintain grid-data toolkits, including synthetic meter data generation.
• Develop planning and dispatch support for demand-response programs.
• Publish versioned crates and Python packages with evidence of performance.
• Iterate based on field feedback to guide future development.
