• 8+ years building large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating high‑scale distributed systems.
• Strong AI fluency and experience with AI-assisted engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction for the recommendations platform across retrieval, ranking, and serving.
• Lead design of large-scale distributed systems powering recommendations across teams.
• Solve high-leverage technical problems and clarify architectural decisions across the stack.
• Raise engineering quality through architectural principles, observability, and reliability practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across teams.
• Lead platform evolution through service decomposition, infrastructure, and tooling initiatives.
• Contribute hands-on through writing and reviewing production code.
