Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Trust Machine Learning team in Seattle. You will design, build, and deploy real-time fraud detection models and push modeling capabilities beyond baselines while maintaining production reliability.

You have 5+ years building ML systems, strong ML fundamentals, and hands-on Python with PyTorch or similar frameworks. Remote-friendly options exist within a hybrid office model in Seattle.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, ML, statistics, or related quantitative field (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and deploying ML systems, with production track record.
• Strong ML fundamentals and experimental design, capable of reasoning beyond metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own ML models and systems that identify risky transactions in production.
• Advance modeling capabilities for adversarial domains with advanced techniques.
• Design offline and online evaluations considering class imbalance and label delays.
• Take models from prototype to production with real-time latency and monitoring.
• Mentor teammates and share external research insights with the team.
• Collaborate with data scientists, risk operations, and business stakeholders to identify fraud patterns.
