Job summary

Unity Technologies is seeking a senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead optimization algorithm design for our advertiser growth initiatives. You’ll bridge quantitative methods with large-scale engineering, shaping how bids, budgets, and targeting decisions are made to maximize advertiser outcomes.

You will design multi-objective optimization, exploration–exploitation strategies, and agentic LLM systems that diagnose campaigns and suggest configuration changes in real time.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ML, data science, or applied research, preferably in ad tech or large-scale optimization.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, OR Economics or equivalent.
• Experience with LLM-based agentic systems and orchestration for diagnostics or workflow automation.
• Strong programming in Python or Scala; expertise with large-scale data processing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship multi-objective optimization algorithms for campaigns (bids, budgets, targeting).
• Develop RL/bandit strategies balancing short-term and long-term advertiser value.
• Build agentic automation for campaign diagnostics and setup recommendations.
• Define metrics frameworks linking model improvements to advertiser outcomes and business results.
