Job summary

Capital One National Association in Chicago, IL seeks a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to design, build and productionize ML models at scale. You’ll join an Agile team delivering ML applications with Product and Data Science partners.

You’ll drive ML infrastructure choices, data pipelines, model governance, and CI/CD for scalable, reliable ML deployments using Python/Scala/Java and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 6+ years designing and building data-intensive solutions with distributed computing.
• 4+ years programming in Python, Scala, or Java, 2+ years ML systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver ML models and components with Product/Data Science teams.
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions including model choice, data, feature selection, and validation.
• Write and test application code, develop and validate models, and automate tests & deployment.
• Collaborate in an Agile team to create/maintain state-of-the-art ML apps and data pipelines.
• Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
• Leverage cloud architectures to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
• Ensure code governance and responsible/Explainable AI practices.
