Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join an Agile team focused on productionizing ML applications at scale. You will design, develop, and review ML models and code, ensuring high availability and performance while aligning with risk and governance practices.

You'll work across product and data science teams, build scalable data pipelines, leverage cloud platforms, and apply CI/CD for reliable deployments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
8+ years designing data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
4+ years programming with Python, Scala, or Java.
3+ years building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems.
2+ years leading teams developing ML solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deliver ML models and components with Product and Data Science teams.
Inform ML infrastructure decisions using modeling techniques and data considerations.
Write and test application code, develop/validate ML models, and automate tests/deployments.
Collaborate in an Agile team to create software for big data and ML.
Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
Leverage cloud architectures to deliver ML models at scale.
Construct optimized data pipelines for ML.
Apply CI/CD with test automation and monitoring.
Ensure code governance and responsible/Explainable AI.
Use Python, Scala, or Java.
