Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join an Agile team focused on productionizing ML applications at scale. You will design, deploy, and monitor ML models, build scalable data pipelines, and collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to drive business value.

Candidates should have 6+ years in data-intensive design, 4+ years in Python/Scala/Java, and 2+ years in ML systems. A Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• At least 6 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Scala, or Java.
• At least 2 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver ML models and components solving real-world business problems.
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions including data, features, and model selection.
• Write and test application code, train and validate models, and automate tests/deployment.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team to enable scalable ML applications.
• Retrain, monitor, and maintain models in production.
• Leverage cloud-based architectures to deliver ML models at scale.
• Build data pipelines feeding ML models and ensure CI/CD and monitoring.
• Ensure code quality, governance, and responsible AI practices.
