Job summary

Capital One McLean, VA is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer 4 to drive AI foundations and scale production models within the IFX organization, partnering with product and data science teams. You’ll design, build, and validate ML models, optimize data pipelines, and deploy scalable solutions in cloud environments using Python, Java, and industry frameworks.

Required: 4+ years in ML with PyTorch or TensorFlow, distributed systems (Spark/Ray), and cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Java, Golang, or C++
• At least 4 years of Machine Learning experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
• At least 4 years of experience using and operating large scale distributed systems (Spark, Ray)
• At least 2 years of experience deploying and operating ML solutions in production and operating production services in the cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and using Kubernetes

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver ML models and components that solve real-world business problems in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions including model choice, data, and feature selection, training, tuning, validation
• Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team to create software for state-of-the-art big data and ML applications
• Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production and leverage cloud-based architectures for scalable delivery
