Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the design of large-scale distributed systems for AI features and production deployment. You will own architecture decisions, drive technical debt strategy, and mentor engineers to maintain high standards across AI initiatives.

You will partner with Applied Scientists and product teams to transition models from research to production, ensuring scalable, reliable platforms in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years producing production services with Python or similar.
• Ownership of services with on-call and incident management.
• Experience with distributed processing: Spark and Dask; strong SQL.
• Deploying ML models into production with cross-team collaboration.
• Familiar with ML tools: MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch; orchestration tools like Airflow/Prefect.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems for AI features.
• Own architectural decisions for flexible, cost-effective, robust systems.
• Direct strategy for managing technical debt across AI products.
• Mentor team to raise engineering excellence within AI products.
• Collaborate with AI Products to transition models from research to production.
