Job summary

Capital One is seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer 4 to join the Enterprise Platforms Technology group in San Francisco. You will design and deploy scalable ML models, build data pipelines, and work across teams to deliver AI-driven marketing and messaging platforms.

The role emphasizes production-grade ML, cloud infrastructure, and responsible AI. Senior engineers collaborate closely with Product and Data Science teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience programming with Python, Java, Golang, or C++.
• At least 4 years of Machine Learning experience using PyTorch or TensorFlow and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• At least 4 years of experience using large scale distributed systems (Spark, Ray).
• At least 2 years of experience deploying ML solutions in production on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and using Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver ML models and components with Product and Data Science teams.
• Inform ML infrastructure decisions including model, data, and feature selection, training, and validation.
• Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment.
• Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams to enable state-of-the-art big data and ML applications.
• Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
• Build cloud-based architectures to deliver ML models at scale and feed data pipelines.
