Spotify is seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to build foundational ML systems for content understanding, safety, and decisioning at global scale. You'll shape architecture and strategy across text, audio, image, and video domains.

Based in London or Stockholm with flexible work-from-home options, this role partners with product, policy, trust & safety to deliver high-quality experiences for listeners and creators alike.

Qualifications

• Experience building production-grade ML systems at scale.
• Familiar with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Interest in multimodal ML.
• Ability to balance automation with safety and user experience.
• Willingness to tackle ambiguous, high-impact problems.
• Systems thinking and connecting models to outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Shape the ML strategy for content understanding and platform decisioning.
• Build & scale ML systems for classification, moderation, ranking, risk detection across multimodal content.
• Develop automated decisioning to ensure content quality, integrity, and policy compliance at scale.
• Design and deploy models across text, audio, image, and video domains.
• Build systems that enable controlled, reliable access to content and metadata for downstream applications.
• Collaborate with product, policy, trust & safety teams to operationalize content standards across platform.
• Improve automation to reduce manual intervention while maintaining high standards of trust and quality.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices in ML engineering, evaluation, and system design.
