Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for the Aviation Intelligence team to build next-generation ML models powering Foresight products. You will work on aircraft and airport data, improving models and operational efficiency for major airlines and airports.

The role emphasizes open-ended problem solving, collaboration in a small team within a larger org, and a strong focus on performance, scale, and impact in aviation worldwide.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Experience with deep learning frameworks: Tensorflow/Keras or PyTorch
• Experience with complex data types: time series, image, video, etc.
• Ability to work within an agile development style

Responsibilities

• Build and improve machine learning models for aviation intelligence applications.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams to deploy scalable AI systems.
• Experiment with large datasets to develop accurate forecasting of runway timings, gate arrivals, and taxi durations.
