Job summary

Workday is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer on the AI Core team to build tailored experiences with advanced Agentic AI, LLMs and RAG. You’ll collaborate across engineering to deploy ML models and APIs at scale using Docker/Kubernetes on Workday’s computing resources.

You are a strong Python developer with leadership qualities, able to design robust ML pipelines, ensure scalability, and mentor peers while delivering value across our HR and Finance products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data/science, physics, math or equivalent.
• 3+ years in data science or ML engineering for scale, including production delivery.
• 3+ years Python with production code and models.
• 3+ years cloud computing experience (AWS, GCP).
• Strong cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Own exploration, design and implementation of features for ML platforms, pipelines and services.
• Evaluate scalability and observability of these features.
• Apply ML techniques including LLMs and NLP to HR/Finance text data, and design cloud-based ML architectures.
• Stay up to date with AI advancements to drive innovation.
• Serve as a technical role model for more junior engineers.
