Job summary

Workday is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for the AI Core team to build tailored user experiences using advanced Agentic AI, LLMs, and RAG. You will collaborate with engineers to deploy ML models and APIs using Docker/Kubernetes at scale, leveraging Workday’s compute resources on large datasets.

You will lead features, ensure scalability, and apply ML/NLP techniques to enterprise HR/Finance data, while staying current with AI advances.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data/computer science, physics, math or equivalent.
6+ years of experience on data science or ML engineering teams delivering ML products at scale.
5+ years of Python development and production code/models.
5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
3+ years building information retrieval systems or graph-based recommendation systems.
3+ years developing large language models or graph-based ML models for production.
3+ years hosting ML models in production at scale.
3+ years using ML frameworks and toolkits (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Sklearn).
3+ years data wrangling with Pandas and PySpark; using Kubernetes and Docker.

Responsibilities

Own exploration, design and implementation of features for ML platforms, pipelines and services.
Ensure scalability and observability of ML features.
Apply ML techniques (LLMs, NLP) to HR/Finance text data and design cloud-based ML architectures.
Stay updated on AI advancements to drive innovation.
Serve as a technical role model for junior engineers.
