Job summary

Uber is launching AV Labs to accelerate the autonomous technology ecosystem. As a Principal ML Engineer, you will build advanced autonomy algorithms and models to add rich semantics to our massive driving data and set the technical direction for state‑of‑the‑art ML that enables data mining and evaluation at scale.

You will mentor senior engineers, lead cross‑organizational initiatives, and bridge Uber’s AV Labs with other units to deploy semantic models and data platforms across the business.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in ML/ robotics/ autonomous systems
• Experience leading large-scale technical projects from conception to production
• Expertise in Python and Linux environments

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for autonomy algorithms and foundation models to enrich the L4 data lake
• Oversee scene and behavior causality modeling for real-world interpretation of data
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across teams
• Bridge AV Labs with other Uber units to deploy models and data platforms at scale
