Job summary

Uber is launching AV Labs to accelerate autonomous data ecosystems. We seek a Staff Software Engineer to architect performance frameworks and build scalable pipelines for fast iteration on high-performance standards.

You will drive automated evaluation, data fidelity, and cross-team collaboration to accelerate safe, reliable deployment of autonomous vehicles across markets, with a focus on real-world data and scalable software design.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering in large-scale data systems or autonomous software.
• Strong software architecture and distributed computing skills.
• Proficiency in C++ or Python and Linux for high-performance software.
• BS or MS in CS, Software Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of automated evaluation frameworks for benchmarking autonomy.
• Architect and optimize high-velocity data pipelines and stack throughput.
• Develop multi-modal driving behavior metrics across road and simulation.
• Communicate benefits and limitations to partner teams.
