Job summary

El Segundo, California-based mission analysis role seeks an experienced engineer to model, simulate, and analyze satellite missions and constellations. You will own the EO/IR image processing chain and develop models for payloads used in system trades and performance predictions.

The selected candidate will architect CONOPS/DRM simulations and collaborate with software/firmware teams to deploy simulations, including HIL.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of related experience preferred.
7+ years modelling aerospace systems using MATLAB/Simulink/Python/C++.
US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Level 6 requires 20+ years of related experience.
9+ years in satellite design/operation and EO/IR image processing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain simulations for large satellite constellations.
Own EO/IR image processing chain from photon to Warfighter.
Create models for space vehicle payloads for system trades and performance predictions.
Develop novel algorithms for MW/MT, RPO and SDA systems.
Architect the CONOPS and DRM and their simulations.
Design and deploy image processing, inertial tracking, state estimation and control algorithms for sensor systems.
Provide tools and modelling platforms for validating system performance during on orbit mission operations.
Collaborate with software and firmware teams on simulation deployment including hardware-in-the-loop.
