Job summary

The Kinross Manh Choh Project in eastern Alaska seeks a Safety Professional to promote safety awareness, support Health and Safety programs, and advise site leadership. You will assist audits, coordinate MSHA activities, and liaise with medical staff and partners.

Requirements include MSHA instructor certification, five+ years in Health and Safety, and a strong background in industrial hygiene and safety program development. Shift work and travel may be required on a Kinross project team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or occupational safety and health is preferred.
• Must possess an MSHA instructor certification.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Health and Safety background with five or more years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the administration of Industrial Hygiene activities and monitor contractor IH programs.
• Assist in developing and implementing controls for identified risks.
• Assist in evaluating and creating Health and Safety SOPs, manuals, and IH policies.
• Assist in emergency preparedness activities.
• Lead the Critical Risk Management Program with risk owners and training.
• Spend time in the field to promote Kinross Health and Safety programs.
• Represent the company during MSHA interactions and coordinate abatement of citations.
• Oversee emergency response capabilities with partners and onsite medical staff.
• Mentor/coach Safety professionals and lead by example.
