Job summary

Handling Systems and Conveyors, Inc. in Arkansas seeks a hands-on Millwright Installation Superintendent to oversee installation, alignment, commissioning, and startup of industrial machinery on job sites.

You will lead crews, coordinate with managers and clients, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. Ideal candidates have 8–10+ years of millwright experience, expertise in rigging, cranes, and precise alignment, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• 8–10+ years of millwright experience with leadership or supervisory roles.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment installation, and precision alignment.
• Strong understanding of rigging practices, cranes, and lifting procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands.
• Extensive knowledge of structural steel erection, connecting, rigging, welding, reinforcing steel, and miscellaneous metals installation is a huge plus

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate millwright crews involved in installing, maintaining, and relocating industrial machinery and equipment.
• Plan and execute installation sequences, including rigging, alignment, precision measurement, and mechanical assembly.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project goals are met.
• Schedule labor, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines and deliverables.
• Oversee rigging operations, including lifts, hoisting, and crane coordination.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards (OSHA, etc.).
• Conduct job site safety meetings, inspections, and enforce safe work practices.
• Identify and resolve installation issues, mechanical problems, and project challenges in real time.
• Monitor project progress and provide status reports to management.
• Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout the installation process.
• Manage subcontractors and vendors as needed.
• Participate in commissioning and startup of installed equipment.
