Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks an experienced welder/fabricator to assemble metal parts using MIG welding and related processes. You will read blueprints, align parts in fixtures, and operate welding equipment to produce high-quality assemblies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years MIG welding and fabrication experience required.
• Read blueprints/work orders to determine specs.
• Read and interpret production schedules; align parts accordingly.
• Use measuring devices to ensure conformance to specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, or test welded parts for conformance to specifications.
• Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules for instructions.
• Align and clamp parts into fixtures to bond or heat-treat.
• Lay out, fit, or connect parts to be joined, calculating measurements.
• Grind, cut, and finish edges to ensure snug fits.
• Inspect seams for defects and rework as needed.
• Prepare surfaces with grinders or drills; maintain equipment.
• Set controls to regulate currents, gas flow, and temperatures.
• Monitor safety and operation of equipment used in welding.
