Description

SFI is seeking a senior Tomcat Administrator with 7 years of combined/mixed IT experience of System Administrator on-premises and cloud environments. The senior candidate for this position is required to install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot development, test and production environments, multi-node middleware farms consisting of Tomcat Applications on a Linux platform on premise and on AWS. Responsibilities will include application deployments, operation support and troubleshooting the Tomcat environments. Deployment will include developing automation scripts into hybrid architectures consisting of both local and cloud infrastructures. The candidate will need strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical topics to senior stakeholders within the client organization. This candidate will be a member of an Operations team of senior Cloud and Middleware administrators.


This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation, Configuration, Tuning and Troubleshooting Tomcat Server on premise and in AWS environments.
  • Manage and support patching/security fixes/upgrades to Tomcat environment.
  • Develop scripts for tasks automation utilizing Shell scripts, Ansible and WLST.
  • Support the Installing/Configuring/Administering Apache Web server in Linux environment.
  • Support server infrastructure in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery CI/CD and/or DevSecOps deployment.
  • Deploy war/ear/jar files into a clustered environment.
  • Set and manage Tomcat user security.
  • Install, support, and configure Oracle WebLogic servers and migrating applications from WebLogic to Tomcat.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Configure Tomcat and WebLogic clusters with SSL certificates.
  • Support daily operation tasks through a ticketing system to app owners /users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years of Tomcat server administration experience
  • Experience in deployment, configuration, and support of Tomcat servers in a middle to large size environment
  • Experience supporting Tomcat servers on-premises and AWS environments in Linux Environment
  • Sloid experience developing automation scripts using Shell and Ansible
  • Experience with DevSecOps automation and deployment
  • Familiarity with AWS EKS Cloud Deployments using Cloud Tools
  • o Experience in Configuring SAML Authentication/Authorization

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in installation, support and troubleshooting of Oracle SSO tier of OAM/OID
  • Working knowledge of Java
  • Exposure and experience with ORACLE databases
  • Knowledge of Oracle fusion middle ware stack of tools
  • Able to develop and troubleshoot JSON or YAML object scripts
  • Knowledge of AWS operations in migrating on premise application to AWS Cloud environment
  • Familiar with AWS services that include EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, ELB, Auto Scaling Groups
  • Assist in Troubleshooting Application Performance Issues
