Job summary

OKX is seeking a senior Middleware Architect to lead the design and optimization of our microservice governance frameworks and data middleware. You will drive high-availability, scalable solutions using Spring Cloud, Kafka, Redis, and related technologies, ensuring robust security and performance.

You will architect distributed systems, guide engineering on RPC mechanisms and messaging, and align data storage strategies with business needs while mentoring the team and advancing our middleware

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Over 10 years of software development experience with at least 6 years in middleware or distributed architecture design.
• Proficient in microservice architecture and RPC frameworks like Spring Cloud/Dubbo, plus messaging middlewares like Kafka/RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) and relational databases (MySQL).
• Experience with search engines such as Elastic Search and containerization/orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiar with configuration centers (Nacos/Apollo) and API gateway tools (Kong).
• Understanding of ServiceMesh, Sidecar, eBPF; strong design capabilities for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize microservice governance frameworks and middleware like Spring Cloud, Kafka, Redis, and MySQL.
• Research and select middleware solutions to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
• Lead development and performance tuning for microservices frameworks (Spring Boot/Spring Cloud).
• Understand RPC mechanisms and messaging queues to optimize data consistency in distributed systems.
• Design efficient data storage solutions balancing performance and cost.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and incident response of middleware systems.
• Stay current with industry trends and promote team capability growth.
