Job summary

BNY Mellon is seeking a Senior Specialist to join the Lake Mary, FL Middle Office team. The role emphasizes quality control, SME guidance, and escalation handling for complex transactions within the IBOR framework.

You will review work of junior staff, analyze intricate settlements, and coordinate with internal and external clients to resolve reconciliation issues and market claims. This is an in-office position with four days on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or equivalent required.
• 5-7 years of total relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience in middle office operations, trade support, reconciliations, or related financial services functions preferred.
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex transactions, reconciliation breaks, trade fails, or similar operational issues preferred.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and responding to complex client inquiries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality control of processing, work allocation and workflow of a Middle Office team and outsourced functions in accordance with SLD.
• Review and approve work conducted by more junior levels in accordance with function policies and procedures.
• Perform analysis and research on the most complex transactions and identify solutions to complex inquiries.
• Serve as SME and conduct research to gather information on the most complex, multi-faceted transactions and provide answers to complex inquiries escalated by lower levels.
• Maintain trade static data, trade enrichment, and trade exception handling and market claims.
• Lead the most complex reconciliations analyses (cash, asset, trade matching, market value), break assignment, resolution of reconciliation breaks, and trade fails.
• May participate in monthly end-client statement workflow, ad hoc reporting, and incident management.
• Identify and escalate issues affecting accuracy of the IBOR within the team.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members and act as SME within incident management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve reconciliations of accounts for complex or atypical transactions.
